Product Description
The Manos Juntas micromill can be found in the Sotara area of Colombia’s Cauca region.
The region stretches from the western Cordillera Mountains to the Pacific Ocean and is characterized by the Popayan plateau, many rivers, and the central volcanic mountain range.
Operated and managed by Banexport, the micromill’s entire concept is based on simplifying tasks and responsibilities, for both the producers and Banexport.
Through Manos Juntas, Banexport buys cherries directly from surrounding farmers, who are paid upfront, based on a fixed price well above market value. This way producers are able to focus on the healthy production of specialty coffee, while the meticulous work of sorting, processing, drying, and storing is managed by the micromill’s team.
