Product Description
Sítio Rancho Dantas, located in Espírito Santo’s Brejetuba region, is managed by father-daughter team Francisco and Karen Bermond. Surrounded by the Atlantic Forest at high elevations, the farm benefits from a unique microclimate - cool days, cold nights, and consistently high humidity. These conditions slow the maturation of coffee cherries, developing a vibrant, structured profile distinct from the classic nutty, chocolate-forward coffees often associated with São Paulo state.
Francisco, one of the most experienced producers in Rancho Dantas, has worked alongside his three brothers to refine farming practices and elevate quality. Since partnering with FAF Coffees four years ago, he and Karen have continued investing in selective harvesting, raised drying beds, and meticulous post-harvest processing to bring out the best of their terroir. The rocky, mineral-rich soils and precise drying techniques contribute to a clean, crisp cup with striking tropical complexity - often compared to profiles from Colombia and Kenya.
This lot showcases the distinct character of Espírito Santo’s evolving specialty coffee scene. Expect notes of green tea, pineapple, and white chocolate, with a refined acidity and elegant structure. Francisco and Karen’s dedication to innovation and sustainability is shaping a fresh perspective on Brazilian coffee, highlighting the potential of Brejetuba as a region capable of producing truly exceptional coffees.
