Product Description

Kamavindi is a family-run estate in Embu, established in 1958 and now managed by Peter Mbature. The farm sits on the southeastern slopes of Mount Kenya and focuses on variety separation and clean processing, with SL28 gradually replacing Ruiru 11 across the 20-hectare farm.

Cherries are hand-sorted and undergo a two-stage dry fermentation before being washed, graded, and dried on raised beds under shade nets. The result is a structured, transparent cup that reflects the care and altitude of the site.

This lot follows a February 2025 cupping in Nairobi, where we first tasted the clarity of Peter’s SL28. That meeting sparked the beginning of a working partnership focused on highlighting clean, terroir-driven Kenyan coffees.
