Despite its diminutive size, Central America’s is a force to be reckoned with in the global coffee market. Still reeling from a long and brutal civil war, the country offers great infrastructure and cultivation knowledge, and a growing number of young farmers are following the footsteps of their parents, with hopes of returning El Salvador to its past glory as one of the world’s leading coffee exporters. We have visited the country on several occasions over the years, and are constantly working in collaboration with our local partners to improve the variety of lots, experiment with exciting processing techniques, and strengthen the global coffee industry’s ties to the local coffee producing community.
