Using the fully washed and dried method on raised beds, this coffee features a unique flavor profile of white grape, vanilla, and sweet lemon peel. Its varietals include SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, and Batian, and it is grown at an elevation of 1,400-1,600 masl in the region's deep, fertile, and well-drained volcanic soils.
The Gachirago coffee factory, located at Gathukeini location, Gaitheri sub-location, has been producing coffee since 1964, and since 1994 under the New Gaturi FCS. With moderate bimodal rainfall and year-round temperatures ranging from 13 to 24C, this region is perfect for producing coffee with a bright and lively taste.
